MONROE, La. – A strong arm from junior Brayden Bouchey of the ULM baseball program, and strong legs from junior Adriunna Brown from the track & field squad earned the pair Warhawk Male and Female of the Week honors, respectively, announced Tuesday.
Bouchey went a career-long seven innings against UTA, matching his March 25 start that earned Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week honors. Saturday's outing saw him strike out 10 batters while allowing four hits and no walks. He notched his third quality start of the season as he improved to 3-2 on the season. His effort on the bump helped lead the Warhawks to the series win over the Mavericks.
The White Rock, British Columbia, native has 54 punchouts in 44 innings after recording 15 over 36 1/3 the previous season. He has allowed four hits or fewer in three of his last four starts.
It marked the second Warhawk of the Week honor for Bouchey this season after previously winning on March 29.
Brown improved upon her top score in the Sun Belt Conference with a 6.05m leap in the long jump. The gold medal and season-best mark on Saturday at the SFA Carl Kight Invitational has her ranked No. 48 in the nation and No. 28 in the NCAA East Region in the event.
Brown was also runner-up in the triple jump on Saturday with a personal-record of 12.45m which ranks third in the conference. Additionally, the Macon, Ga., native was part of a second-place 4x400m relay team that posted a season-best time of 3:46.80.
Now a three-time Warhawk of the Week winner this season, Brown picked up the honors for the fifth time in her career.
