Box Score SAN MARCOS, Texas – It was a quick 4-1 victory for the ULM tennis team in its Friday contest against Arkansas State, the seventh consecutive for the Warhawks in the head-to-head series.
ULM (12-4, 2-3 SBC) collected the doubles point thanks to Luana Stanciu/Tiffany Mylonas and Martina Husarova/Patricia Villar's wins after Arkansas State took the first.
Mylonas blanked Victoria Roberts to give ULM a 2-0 lead. Villar was nearly as dominant in a 6-1, 6-1 victory on No. 5. Husarova clinched her fourth match of the year. Only once on singles play did a Red Wolf get past a second point on ULM, and Stanciu came back from that one to win 6-1 in the next set.
It was the Warhawks' sixth win on the year in which its opponent had one point or less.
ULM will return to action at 1:30 p.m. Saturday when it faces off against UT Arlington.
