MONROE, La. – The ULM cross country teams started the season on a high note as the Men's team won and Women's team posted second place finish on Friday night in the Warhawk Invitational. The men placed five runners in the top 10 and three inside the top five, while the women had a runner post a seventh place finish and three top-15 finishes.

 

THE TURNING POINT

On the men's side, the Warhawks won the event tonight due to the fact of posting three runners inside the top five. The women's team had an athlete post a top 10 while getting three in the top 15.

 

NOTABLES

-Kip Victor (16:39) and Elias Keter (16:44) finished second and third, respectively, in the men's race to pace the Warhawks. Brandon McDonald (17:02, 5th) also finished inside the top 5.

-Victor was less than three seconds off the top time of the day by Aaron Koech of Grambling.

-Angela Jepchirchir (20:30) paced the Warhawks women's cross country team running 7th within a minute of the leader from Southern Miss.

 

UP NEXT

-Following today races, the Warhawks now prepare to head to nearby Ruston and run in The Mook Invitational on September 17th.
