Warhawks Split Saturday Action at TCU

Fort Worth, Texas – The ULM tennis team continued its play in the TCU Invitational on Saturday in day two action, squaring off in singles competition against host TCU and fellow Sun Belt Conference member Texas State.

NOTABLES

-The Warhawks opened the day against TCU and were swept in all six matches, with two matches going to a third set. Both Tiffany Mylonas and Petra Horakova extended their matches to three sets before falling, while Stefana Andrei, Patricia Villar, Luana Stanciu and Madalina Grigoriou each fell in two sets in their matches against the Horned Frogs.

-Against Texas State, ULM tallied victories in four of the five matches, all in two sets. Grigoriou tallied a win with 6-2, 6-2 scores, while Mylonas grabbed her win by a 6-3, 6-0 mark. Villar won with 6-2, 6-3 set scores and Horakova notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory.

-The Warhawks and Texas State will square off again in late March in Sun Belt Conference action.

UP NEXT

-Tournament action wraps up on Sunday, with the Warhawks playing singles action against UTEP. ULM will then get set for the first home match of the season when Alcorn State comes to Monroe on Thursday, January 19 at Heard Stadium.
