HOUSTON, Texas – The ULM men's and women's track & field teams closed out the Houston Invitational on Saturday with another strong showing, including multiple new records for the team.
NOTABLES
-Kourtni Russell competed on Saturday in the 60 meter hurdles, posting a time of 9.07 seconds in the semifinals to set a new personal record. She went on to better that by posting a time of 9.01 seconds in the finals to finish in eighth place.
-Levaughn Battick competed on the men's side in the 60 meter hurdles, finishing in fourth place in the finals of the event with his time of 8.25 seconds.
-Delwin Nelson finished in third in the men's triple jump, posting a 15.05 meter jump. Dahndre Washington posted a 14.01 meter distance in the triple jump setting a new personal best as a true freshman.
-Rodney Harrison posted a 1.95 meter jump in the men's high jump on Saturday finishing just .10 meters off of the first place jump. Austin Walker finished just .05 meters behind Harrison with his 1.90 meter jump.
-The Warhawks had a strong showing in the men's 200 meter dash as Nigel Cribbs finished in second place with a time of 22.91 seconds. Semaj Lewis finished fifth with his 23.17 second time and Emile Trahan finished in 23.60 seconds.
-Elias Keter had a strong showing in the men's 3000 meter run with a time of 8:41.59 to finish fifth, just 10 seconds off the winning pace.
UP NEXT
-ULM now begins preparation for the LSU Bayou Bengal. The Warhawks run in that event on beginning next Friday, February 3 in Baton Rouge.
