Warhawks Wrap Up Busy Week On Saturday With Louisiana Classic

Lafayette, La. – The ULM men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up a busy week on the track on Saturday with the Louisiana Classic in Lafayette, with strong showings from some of the Warhawk throwers.

NOTABLES

-The Warhawks had a strong showing in the men's discus throw on Saturday, highlighted by Jevaughn Shaw placing third in the event with a 49.83 meter toss. Kyle Weiss in the same event placed eighth with a 44.81 meter throw.

-The same duo of Shaw and Weiss competed again in the shot put event and flipped positions as Weiss placed in third place in the shot put with a 15.87 meter distance and Shaw went just behind in fourth with a 15.76 meter throw.

-In the women's 1500 meter run, Angela Jepchirchir had a personal record on Saturday as she placed fifth with a 4:51.57 time just behind a trio of runners from Tulane.

-Levaughn Battick in the men's 110 meter hurdles had a fourth place showing with a time of 14.55. Battick was first of college representatives in the event as the others competed unattached in the event.

-Baillie Cunningham had an eighth place finish in the women's 800 meter run with her time of 2:22.07. Brandon McDonald also placed eighth on the men's side as he ran a 1:55.31 in the men's 800 meter run.

-Alexis Morton placed ninth in the women's 400 meter hurdles as she had a finishing time of 1:07.83.

 

UP NEXT

-ULM will be back on the track next Friday and Saturday as some Warhawks will be in Houston competing on Friday while others will be competing in Arlington on Saturday.
