Jonesboro, Ark. – The ULM tennis team handled the Bobcats from Texas State in dominant fashion on Friday morning, as the Warhawks won 4-0 over the Bobcats. This was ULM's first match since moving into the top 50 in the ITA Rankings on Tuesday.
NOTABLES
-In doubles action, the team of Stefana Andrei and Petra Horakova dominated in a 6-0 shutout win for ULM, while Luana Stanciu and Tiffany Mylonas won their match against Texas State 6-2 to secure the doubles point for the Warhawks.
-In singles action the Warhawks were dominant once again with their top three winning in straight sets to secure the point for the team.
-The Warhawks were led by Andrei on court one, who won 6-2, 6-2 followed up by Mylonas winning her match over the Bobcats 6-3, 6-2 in the number two singles position. The Warhawks secured the match when Patricia Villar won her singles match on court three by a 6-3, 6-2 score to move ULM to a 9-1 start on the year.
-This marks the third time under Coach Terrence De Jongh that the Warhawks are 9-1 in their first ten dual matches. The only other times came to start the 2010-11 campaign, when the Warhawks ended the year 18-2, and also in the 2012-13 season when ULM ended that year with a 15-4 mark.
