Warhawks Wrap Up Texas Swing Highlighted By A Pair Of Wins

Monroe, La. – The ULM men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up a strong weekend in Texas with multiple wins and solid performances for the Warhawks in a pair of meets.

NOTABLES

-In Arlington, Adriunna Brown had a winning performance in the women's long jump on Saturday with a 6.01 meter jump, just short of hitting her personal record (6.17 meters). Brown continued her strong day with a second place finish in the triple jump with a 12.16 meter jump.

-In Houston, Kipkuri Victor won the 10,000 meter run with a time of 31:24.93. Jonathan Jeffcoat finished in fifth with a 33:19.25 time at the event hosted by Rice.

-Levaughn Battick had a strong performance in the 110 meter hurdles finishing second with a time of 14.16 seconds. Jevaughn Shaw finished second in the men's discus with a 53.59 meter toss.

-In the men's 400 meter hurdles the Warhawks had two finishers in the top five, highlighted by Andre Phillips' winning time of 53.06. Zach Kilpatrick had a fifth place showing with a 55.12 finishing time.

-In the men's triple jump, Lebrun Nelson had a fifth place finish with a 15.05 meter jump. Austin Walker placed in sixth in javelin with a 49.81 meter throw.

-Alexis Gordon had a ninth place showing on Friday in the women's hammer throw, finishing with a 41.73 meter throw in the finals. She followed up Friday's performance with a sixth place showing in the discus throw where she had a 45.65 meter throw.

-In the men's 1500 meter run, sophomore Brandon McDonald had a strong sixth place showing with his time of 3:59.40. In the men's 5000 meter run, Elias Keter finished in eighth with a 15:06.28 time.

-The men's 4x400 meter relay team finished fifth as the team of Andre Johnson, Zach Kilpatrick, Andre Phillips and Jarterius Newson had a combined time of 3:16.83.

UP NEXT

-ULM will be back on the track beginning next Thursday, March 30 when the Warhawks travel to Austin for the Texas Relays. The event in Austin will be March 30 and April 1.
