Arlington, Texas – The ULM tennis team closed out the spring Sun Belt slate with a perfect record in league following a 4-0 shutout over the Ragin Cajuns on Saturday afternoon. The Warhawks have now won eight straight over their in-state rivals from Lafayette.
NOTABLES
-In doubles action, the team of Stefana Andrei and Petra Horakova took the doubles point with a 6-0 win for ULM, while Karolina Snita and Madalina Grigoriu won their match 6-0 to secure the doubles point for the Warhawks. Luana Stanciu and Tiffany Mylonas were ahead 5-4 in the match when it was called due to the doubles point already being decided.
-In singles action, the Warhawks were dominant once again with wins in all three of the singles matches that went the distance.
-The Warhawks were led by Mylonas out of the number one position, who won 6-1, 6-0, followed up by Horakova, winning her match 6-2, 6-2 in the number three singles position. Out on court five, Madalina Grigoriu dominated her match 6-0, 7-5 as the Warhawks picked up the shutout win.
-Horakova moved to 12-0 in dual play with her win today over the Ragin Cajuns as the Warhawks picked up their 11th straight win overall on Saturday. The Warhawks are now 27-14 all-time in the series, including winning their last eight matches against the Cajuns.
UP NEXT
-The Warhawks return to the courts on April 14 for their final regular season match against SMU. The match in Dallas will begin at 1:00 p.m. next Friday.
