CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – ULM sophomore women's golfer
Jahaanvie Walia maintained her composure down the stretch, while holding off a hard-charging Linette Holmslykke (Murray State), to earn her first collegiate tournament crown at the F&M Bank Austin Peay State Intercollegiate on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Walia became ULM's first individual champion since Alison Knowles won four tournament titles in 2013-14.

Walia capitalized on seven pars and one birdie, which came at the 11th green, in the final nine holes to close with a three-round total of 1-over-par 217 (71-72-74) on the Clarksville Country Club Course. Holmslykke began her rally in the final six holes by recording four pars, one birdie (16) and an eagle at 18 finishing one stroke off the pace set by Walia.

Walia's consistency in the final round of play, which included 12 pars and two birdies, helped the Warhawks finish second on the team leaderboard with a 41-over-par score of 905 (300-299-306). ULM was edged out by Murray State, which closed out the event with the lowest single-round performance (290) of any of the 11 participating teams. The Racers, who had four individuals finish in the Top 10, were 29-over-par in three rounds of action and held a 12-stroke lead over ULM and a 25-stroke edge over third-place Austin Peay.

Junior
Shani White enjoyed her first Top 10 outing of the season for the Warhawks, finishing in a three-way tie for 10th alongside Austin Peay's Taylor Dedmen and Murray State's Raeysha Surendran. White closed out the third round with a 7-over 79, finishing at 12-over-par 228 for the tournament, after recording nine pars and one birdie on Tuesday. Her lone birdie came at the 11th hole, which broke a string of four-straight pars.

Senior
Olivia Landberg also turned in a solid performance for ULM, placing herself in a three-way tie for 14th with Murray State's Sarah McDowell and Findlay's Makenzie Torres. Landberg carded a third-round 75 after notching 13 pars and one birdie, which came on the 18th hole, as she finished with a 14-over-par score of 230 (80-75-75).

Senior
Scarlett Eaton marked the fourth Warhawk in the Top 20 as she closed with a 16-over-par 232 (75-79-78). Eaton, who tied for 20th with Austin Peay's Shelby Darnell, emerged with 11 pars and a birdie (17) as she was 6-over-par on the final round.

ULM junior
Angela Tocco was unable to establish any rhythm in the third round, finishing with five pars en route to an 88, leaving her in a tie for 41st with a 29-over-par score of 245 (79-78-88).

The Warhawks return to the course on Oct. 15-16 when they host the Fred Marx Invitational in Monroe.
