ARLINGTON, TX –
The ULM track and field team wrapped up the Bobby Lane Invitational with 25 Top-10 finishes on Saturday afternoon (March 24) at Maverick Stadium on the UT Arlington campus. Those performances, along with three Top-10 outings on Friday, gave ULM 28 total Top-10 outings at the event.

"We had a very good weekend," ULM head coach J.D. Malone said. "We took a smaller group to the meet, but they really performed quite well. We had three event winners, and something like 20 personal bests were recorded, so that's not bad weekend."

Micaiah Dendy was the lone Warhawk to finish first on Saturday, capturing the triple jump with a leap of 40-3 1/2. That performance, which came on her third attempt of the afternoon, kept Dendy in front of Juleen Lewis (UT-Arlington) and Allie Heckemeyer (Missouri Southern). Teammate Taejah Watkins was also among the Top-10 finishers in the triple jump for ULM, clearing 35-9 1/2 on her first attempt of the day.

Dendy added a fifth-place long jump (19-2 3/4) to become one of only three Warhawks to wrap up the day with multiple Top-10 performances.

Dominique Allen, who finished first in the hammer throw on Friday, reached the podium with a second-place finish in discus on Saturday after a heave of 133-9. Allen's top throw came in her third attempt as she finished behind Anitial'a Robins (Texas A&M-Commerce), who grabbed the top spot with a toss of 141. Joining Allen atop the list was teammate Hayden Holloway, who finished third with a mark of 133-4.

Allen also saw success in the shot put, where she claimed fifth with a toss of 44-5 1/4. Brianna Sam also picked up a 10th-place finish for the Warhawks in the event following a heave of 39-1 3/4.

Alton Clay followed up a first-place performance in Friday's hammer throw by finishing second in the shot put (55-3) and third in discus (162-1) on Saturday. Clay was just shy of Bryan Burns (Missouri Southern) for first place in the shot put, recording his best mark in the sixth round. Burns' mark of 56-6 1/2 came on his fifth attempt.

Clay was one of four Warhawks to place in the Top 10 in shot put, along with Micah Dye (third at 53-9), Kyle Weiss (fourth at 53) and Christopher Brinkley (eighth at 48-1 3/4).

Clay's best heave in the discus came on his fifth attempt, but it fell shy of performances by Adam Damadzic (UT-Arlington; 174-10) and Jevaughn Shaw (unattached; 172-3). Joining Clay with solid performances in the men's discus were Kyle Weiss (149-9) and Brice Chaney (142), who finished seventh and ninth, respectively.

Kourtni Russell crossed the line in fourth in a time of 14.27 in the women's 110-meter hurdles. On the men's side, Levaughn Battick also was fourth in the event in a time of 14.50.

Colm Bourke cleared 22-11 1/4 on his fifth attempt in the men's long jump to finish in sixth place.

Rodney Harrison also was among Top-10 finishers for the Warhawks, clearing 6-6 3/4 in the high jump as he placed sixth. He was joined by Austin Walker, who tied Joshua Canete (UT-Arlington) for ninth with a jump of 6-2 3/4.

ULM had two individuals, Zach Kilpatrick and Austin McBain, place among the Top 10 in the men's 400-meter hurdles. Kilpatrick crossed the line sixth in a time of 55.40, while McBain was seventh at 55.94.

Brandon McDonald closed out the men's 800-meter dash in a time of 1:57.11, placing sixth in the process.

La'Porchia Griggs was the seventh-best runner in the women's 100-meter dash on Saturday, finishing off the event in a time of 11.94. Her teammate Ava Paul capped off the women's 400-meter hurdles in eighth at 1:06.70.
