Andrei and Snita Earn All-Louisiana Women's Tennis Honors

Tennis
RUSTON, La. – Upon closing out yet another standout year, senior tennis player Stefana Andrei earned All-Louisiana first-team honors by the Louisiana Sports Writer's Association, as announced on Saturday by the association. Sophomore teammate and doubles partner Karolina Snita, was selected to the honorable mention list.

Andrei was an unstoppable force on the courts; in singles competition, she finished 18-3 dating back to the premier of the fall season, and undefeated this spring in both overall and conference play.

The former Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year finished the Sun Belt tournament (and her final season) riding on a twelve-match win streak, aiding in her All-Sun Belt first-team singles selection.

Andrei was the only conference player selected as a part of the main draw to compete in the ITA All-American Tournament in the fall.

This spring, Andrei has helped her team earn big in-state against McNeese, Southeastern, Louisiana Tech, and Louisiana.

Snita, a native of Glogow, Poland, was chosen as an honorable mention after a dominant 12-2 showing in singles play this spring.

Earlier in the season, she swept her opponent from Jackson State (6-0, 6-0), and posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Troy's Jiayuan Xue.

Snita's 6-0, 6-2 win over Coastal Carolina was key in leading the Warhawks to the semi-finals of the Sun Belt Championship in April.
