Rapisura Climbs 14 Spots on Leaderboard at Little Rock Classic

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Junior Sharmaine Rapisura shaved three strokes off her opening round 75, finishing with an even par score of 72 on Monday at the Little Rock Classic being held at the Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
 
Rapisura, who climbed 14 spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 17th place alongside Western Kentucky's Bailey Tyree, is at 3-over-par 147 for the tournament by virtue of four birdies and 10 pars in the second round. The leader heading into Tuesday's final round is UTEP's Valeria Mendizabal, who is 8-under-par with a score of 136 (71-65). Her second-round 65 marked the lowest score of the day.
 
Joining Rapisura among the Top-20 individuals in Hot Springs is Angela Tocco, who is tied for 19th with a two-day score of 4-over-par 148 (72-76). Tocco capped off the second round with one birdie, which came on the 18th green, and 12 pars.
 
The tandem of Rapisura and Tocco kept the Warhawks team in the Top-10 on the team leaderboard. After 36 holes, ULM is tied for seventh at 18-over-par 594 after posting back-to-back scores of 297. The Warhawks are 17 shots off the pace established by Western Kentucky, which sits at 1-over-par 577. Bradley is second with a 6-over-par 582 while UTEP rounds out the Top-3 with a 9-over-par 585.
 
Eva Bjornsdottir, who carded the second-lowest score of the second round with a 74, and is locked in an 8-way tie for 30th. The Iceland native, who heads into Tuesday with a 5-over-par 149, took advantage of 14 pars and one birdie, which was recorded on the 11th green.
 
Warhawk freshman Line Petersen, competing as an individual, slipped into a seven-way tie for 38th at 6-over 150 (71-79). Petersen managed 11 pars over the course of the second round.
 
Teammates Jahaanvie Walia and Shani White complete the ULM scorecard with a pair of 7-over scores of 151, good for a 10-way tie at 45th through two rounds. Walia closed Monday's play with a score of 76 after carding three birdies and eight pars. White finished with three birdies and nine pars for a second-round 75.
 
The three-day tournament concludes on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
