FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The ULM men's and women's cross country units finished 20th in their respective team standings at the conclusion of the Arkansas Chile Pepper Invitational, which took place on the University of Arkansas Experimental Farm course.
The top men's finisher for the Warhawks was Kiprotich Mitei, who completed the 8k race in a time of 26:26.5, while the ULM women were led by
Edith Jebet, who posted a time of 19:17.2 in the 5k event.
Jebet was followed in the race by teammates
Sharon Jerono (20:04.8) and
Angela Jepchirchir (20:16.9), who finished 84th and 98th, respectively.
Kaye-Loni Bowden logged the fourth-best time on the women's team (20:36.4), finishing 121st in the process.
ULM's
Allison Tyler (23:32.4) came through with a 279
th-place finish, while
Alexus Robertson (36:28.8) finished 350
th.
Kiprotich was one of two Top-50 finishers for ULM on the men's side, along with
Gregor Findlay, who placed 49th with a time of 26:53.6.
Gabriel Wilcox crossed the line 164th, with a time of 28:39.8, beating out Warhawk teammates
Eric Hawkins (28:51.6) and
Allen Mire (29:05.5), who finished 175th and 185th, respectively.
The remaining two ULM runners were
Adrian Harris, who finished 246th in a time of 30:34.9, and
Victor Kipkirui, who was 283rd with a time of 31:34.6.
The Warhawks now return to Clinton, Miss. for the Mississippi College Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.
