ULM Finishes Seventh, Bjornsdottir 18th at Spring Break Shootout

DADE CITY, Fla. – The ULM women's golf program concluded its first tournament of the spring schedule on Tuesday, March 12, finishing seventh out of 15 teams at the Spring Break Shootout with a 31-over-par 883 (298-288-297). The Warhawks were led individually by Eva Bjornsdottir, who finished the event in a five-way tie for 18th.
 
ULM, which concluded the final round with a 298 and a three-round score of 884, was 26 shots off the pace set by tournament co-hosts Western Kentucky and Florida Gulf Coast, who shared the team title with a 5-over-par 857.
 
Bjornsdottir enjoyed the best third-round score of the day for the Warhawks, firing a 1-over 72, as she finished with a 7-over-par score of 220 (75-73-72), recording her best finish of the season.
 
Olivia Landberg slipped to a seven-way tie for 23rd after posting a final-round 78 to close at 8-over-par 221 (76-67-78).
 
Jahaanvie Walia joined Bjornsdottir and Landberg among Top-35 finishers for the Warhawks, closing with a 10-over-par 223 (75-74-74). Her round of 74 was the third-best by any ULM player in the final round.
 
Shani White took six shots off her second-round score as she tallied a 73 in the third round to finish tied for 41st at 11-over-par 224 (72-79-73). Scarlett Eaton completed the ULM scorecard with a 23-over-par 236 (83-74-79) to place tied for 72nd in the field.
 
"This is a solid start for us," ULM Director of Golf Tim Baldwin said. "I'm very proud of the ladies. Everyone competed hard and contributed this week.
 
"I saw a lot of good things this week. We know where we need to improve, and we'll spend the time necessary to hone our skills."
 
The Warhawks return to the links on March 18-19 when they head to Sugar Land, Texas, to compete in the Houston Baptist Husky Invitational.
