SUGAR LAND, Texas – ULM senior Olivia Landberg recorded the best finish of her career, placing second at the HBU Husky Invitational, after carding an 8-over-par score of 224 (76-75-73) to finish one shot off the pace established by Sam Houston State's Hannah Alberto as the tournament concluded on Tuesday, March 19.

Landberg has one other Top-10 finish in her ULM career which came when she placed ninth at the 2017 Eastern Kentucky Colonel Classic. Her final round of play Tuesday included nine pars and four birdies, which came in pairs at the third and fourth as well as the seventh and ninth holes.

Joining Landberg among Top-10 individual finishers was junior Shani White, who capped off the event in sixth after a 12-over-par score of 228 (76-77-76). White, who has two Top-10 outings this season, has now tallied 13 Top-10 finishes in her ULM career. White's final round included 14 pars and one birdie.

The Warhawks ended the two-day, three-round event third in the team standings with a 67-over-par score of 931 (303-311-317). Host Houston Baptist took home top honors among the 12 teams participating with a 49-over-par score of 913 (298-310-305).

Sophomore Jahaanvie Walia also was among the top contenders for the Warhawks in the tournament, placing 12th with a 16-over-par 232 (76-79-77). Walia closed out the final round with 10 pars and one birdie, which came on the first hole.

"I'm very proud of our women's program this week, finishing third," ULM Director of Golf Tim Baldwin said. "We had two ladies finish in the Top 10, including a runner-up performance by Olivia Landberg, and another golfer took 12th. The ladies beat several teams ranked ahead of them, including Sam Houston State (No. 102 in the country.)"

The ULM card was completed by sophomores Sharmaine Rapisura (36-over-par 252) and Eva Bjornsdottir (45-over 261), who finished 55th and 62nd, respectively.

The Warhawks return to action March 31-April 2 at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate, hosted by Georgia State, in Stockbridge, Georgia.

"The team takes a little break now before leaving later this month for a final push in preparation for the Sun Belt Conference Championships in April," Baldwin said.
