Van Buynder, competing in his 10th tournament of the season, is one of five players tied for fourth after carding a 6-under-par 138 (67-71). He enjoyed his third sub-70 round of the season in the first round by virtue of six birdies and 11 pars. The freshman standout followed with 15 pars and two birdies in the second round to close two shots off the pace established by Middle Tennessee State's Marcus Byrd, who leads the field at 8-under-par 136 (70-66).

Santigny also is tied for fourth place at 6-under-par 138 after scoring a pair of 69s. The junior began his day with four birdies and 13 pars in the first round before recording five birdies and 11 pars in second-round action.

Junior Guillaume Fanonnel, who fired a 5-under-par 139, is tied for ninth place, just one shot behind his teammates Van Buynder and Santigny. Fanonnel carded a first-round 70, taking advantage of five birdies and 11 pars, while his second-round score of 69 included four birdies, an eagle on the second hole and 10 pars.

His second round 67 tied Van Buynder for the best round by any Warhawk on Monday. Girao managed three birdies and 11 pars in the first round and posted nine birdies and six pars over the next 18 holes. He recorded back-to-back birdies at 12 and 13 as well as 15 and 16 before rattling off three straight at the first, second and third holes.

Junior Andoni Etchenique, who shot an even-par 72 in the first round, finished his day tied for 57th with a 5-over-par score of 149 (72-77). Etchenique's first round featured 14 pars and two birdies while his next 18 holes included 12 pars and two birdies.

"The guys played great today, breaking ULM's 36-hole scoring record by two shots and placing three players in the Top 10," ULM Director of Golf Tim Baldwin said. "The guys played the par 3s (9 under), eight shots better than any team in the field. I'm very proud of how disciplined the guys played today. Our rounds for the most part were very clean.

"This is a great tune-up for the Sun Belt Conference Championships later this weekend. We need to finish strong and make a statement that ULM golf is on the move!"

The two-day tournament concludes on Tuesday, April 16 at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.
