ULM Women’s Golf Finishes 13th in John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – The ULM women's golf team wrapped up the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate, its third spring tournament of the season, in 13th place on Tuesday, April 2. The three-day tournament was held at the Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga.
 
The Warhawks finished with an 82-over-par score of 946 (321-316-309). South Florida won the team title with a 26-over-par 890 (303-293-294).
 
The top individual finisher for ULM was sophomore Jahaanvie Walia, who closed in a four-way tie for 32nd after recording a 19-over-par 235 (81-76-78). Walia carded a third-round 78 while recording 11 pars and one birdie.
 
Junior Shani White, who finished with a 78 on Tuesday, tied for 36th along with four others with a 20-over-par 236 (79-79-78). With 11 pars and one birdie in the final round of action, White took one stroke off her second-round score.
 
Sophomore Eva Bjornsdottir and senior Scarlett Eaton finished tied for 44th in the 89-player field. Bjornsdottir, who closed with two birdies and nine pars, produced scores of 78, 81 and 80 en route to a 23-over 239. Meanwhile, Eaton (83-82-74) made the biggest jump by any Warhawk Tuesday, advancing 26 places on the leaderboard, thanks to three birdies and 12 pars. Her final-round 74 marked the lowest score posted by a ULM golfer Tuesday.
 
Senior Olivia Landberg completed ULM's team scorecard, tying for 66th with a 27-over-par 243 (84-80-79). Landberg improved her scores each round, closing with a 79 after positing 12 pars on the final day.
 
Sharmaine Rapisura competed in the event as an individual, finishing in 77th with a 36-over 252 (92-83-77). The sophomore concluded her final round of play with a 77, carding 10 pars along with an eagle at seven. The eagle was one of two scores of under par for Rapisura in the tournament, with the other a birdie in the first round.
 
ULM wraps up the regular season at the Murray State Jan Weaver Invitational April 5-6 in Murray, Kentucky.
 
"The ladies struggled a bit this week with a slow start," ULM Director of Golf Tim Baldwin said. "We played much better today but sort of limped in late.
 
"We'll be competing in the Murray State Jan Weaver Invitational later this week, and we hope it's a competitive tune-up for the Sun Belt Championships."
