MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. – ULM's Guillaume Fanonnel remained inside the Top-10 of the Sun Belt Conference Championships individual leaderboard following Monday's second round and the Warhawks are tied for sixth in the team standings at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, Fla.

As a team, ULM slipped one spot into a tie for sixth place in the standings with a 1-under-par 567 (282-285), 12 strokes behind first-place Arkansas State (13-under 555; 281-274). The Warhawks trail fourth-place Little Rock (6-under 562) by five shots, heading into Tuesday's third round.

Fanonnel fell five spots on the individual leaderboard into six-way tie for 10th on Monday with a 2-under-par 140 (68-72) after 36 holes. He shot a 1-over-par 72 Monday, including 13 pars and two birdies.

Arkansas State's Luka Naglic remained the leader in the clubhouse after posting a second-round 67, moving his score to 9-under-par 133 (66-67). He owns a two-shot lead over Arkansas State's Zan Luka Stim and South Alabama's Rasmus Karlsson, who have fired a 7-under-par score of 135, respectively.

ULM's Andoni Etchenique used a second-round score of 70 to climb 15 spots to 27th on Monday afternoon. Etchenique, who has a 2-over-par score of 144 (74-70), carded 10 pars and registered five birdies in second-round action.

Otto Van Buynder endured a difficult second round of play, sliding into four-way tie for 35th, after carding a 5-over 76, moving his score to a 3-over-par 145 (69-76). Van Buynder's round consisted of 11 pars and two birdies, which came on the third and 16th holes.

Thibault Santigny also experienced a tough second round, losing 25 spots on the leaderboard and ending the day tied for 49th with a 6-over-par 148 (71-77). Santigny capped off the round with 10 pars and two birdies, which came on the third and 10th holes.

Freshman Michael Gilbert, who replaced Joao Giro in the lineup, came through in the clutch with a 4-under-par 67 in the second round. Gilbert, who began his day on the 10th green, posted six pars and three birdies in the first nine holes. He added five more pars and three additional birdies on the back nine to finish with the team's lowest score of the second round.

"It was a pretty average day for the guys," ULM Director of Golf Tim Baldwin said. "Andoni (Etchenique) and Michael (Gilbert) both played well today. We made too many mistakes to pick up any ground, but fortunately, we're only five shots back of (fourth-place) Little Rock. We need an exceptional day tomorrow to advance to match play, but it's still possible."

The individual medalist will be determined after Tuesday's third round, while the top four teams in the standings will advance to Wednesday's match play to decide the Sun Belt's team champion.
