MONROE, La. – Jens Christian Tvergaard, one of the Top 20 amateurs in Denmark, has signed a grant-in-aid to attend ULM and compete in men's golf in 2019-20, according to an announcement made by Director of Golf Tim Baldwin.

"I'm pleased to announce the signing of JC Tvergaard, who will join us in August 2019 as a member of our men's golf team," Baldwin said. "JC currently is playing off a +2.9 handicap and is ranked No. 777 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).

"He's really looking forward to coming to the states and adding some quality depth to our program. JC joins Harry Lord (Lancashire, England), who recently signed, along with Line Petersen, who also hails from Denmark, on the women's side."

A native of Jelling, Denmark, Tvergaard has recorded 10 Top-10 performances in 2018-19, including four Top-5 finishes. He won the Asserbo Pokalen last September after carding a 54-hole total of 210 (68-67-75).

"I feel ULM is a perfect opportunity for me as both a person and as a golfer," Tvergaard said. "I see this as a chance for me to progress my game because I find myself comfortable in a competitive environment. I'm very much looking forward to being a part of the ULM golf team and contributing positive results for the school."

Tvergaard graduated from Rosborg Gymnasium & HF in 2018.
