MONROE, La. – Five returning golfers and one newcomer will take on an eight-tournament schedule in the 2019-20 season, head coach Tim Baldwin announced Friday morning.
"We are excited to get the new year going with our ladies program at ULM," said Baldwin. "Our top two players are back with Shani White and Jahaanvie Walia to lead the way."
Walia returns after being named the Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore, after placing in the Top 12 in four of the nine tournaments last year, including a pair of top five finishes. She won the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate in her first tournament as a Warhawk.
The Warhawks will travel to three tournaments in the fall and five in the spring.
ULM opens the 2019-20 season at the USA Intercollegiate, hosted by South Alabama. It will be a 54-hole event played over three days, starting on Sept. 14.
Two weeks later, the Warhawks tee off at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif.
"This is going to be a really neat trip for the ladies as we don't get to travel that far west very often," Baldwin said.
ULM closes the fall portion of the schedule Oct. 27th through 29th at the Little Rock Classic in Hot Springs, Ark.
"This annual event is a mainstay for our ladies program as we really enjoy seeing our host families each year," Baldwin said.
The Warhawks will spend a bulk of the spring schedule in Texas. ULM resumes the schedule on Feb. 11th and 12th at the Texas State Invitational in Kyle, Texas. After nearly a month off, ULM heads back to the heart of Texas to play in the Mary Kauth Invitational, hosted by UTSA, on March 10th and 11th. The Warhawks return to Texas the following week for the HBU Husky Invitational, hosted by Houston Baptist.
The Warhawks take a break from Texas to play in the Bama Beach Bash, co-hosted by USA and UAB, beginning March 22nd in Gulf Shores, Ala.
ULM wraps up regular season play on April 6th and 7th at the Cardinal Challenge, hosted by Lamar in Beaumont, Texas.
Postseason play begins with the Sun Belt Championships, which return to the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla., on April 19.
