MONROE, La. – ULM head track and field coach J.D. Malone recently announced the hiring of Gabriella Gaudreault as an assistant coach for distance and cross country.
"I am super excited to be adding Gabby to our staff," Malone said. "She is a former All-American and has worked with some of the best middle distance/distance coaches on the east coast. She comes very highly recommended. Her dietetics and nutrition background will be an asset for all of our team. If you spend five minutes around her you will know why I am so enthusiastic about this hire."
Gaudreault comes to ULM from Campbell University, where she was an assistant coach for cross country and track and field for the 2018-19 season. She guided Roshae Jackson to a conference title in the 800 meter at the 2019 Big South Indoor Track & Field Conference championship, where she also produced a runner-up finish in the mile. Jackson's success continued at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where she finished as the runner up in the 800 meters, and third place in the 1500m. On the men's side, Gaudreault helped coach multiple time All-American athletes Amon Kemboi and Lawrence Kipkoech in the long distance events. As a team, the Campbell men won the Big South cross country championship for thefourth year in a row, and finished runner-up in the indoor and outdoor track and field championships, while the women finished as conference runner-up in cross country. She also developed and directed the sport nutrition program for the team.
Prior to Campbell, Gaudreault was the graduate assistant for Clemson University Cross Country & Track and Field in 2017, assisting with the men's and women's middle distance runners. Prior to her time as a graduate assistant, Gaudreault served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Tigers from April through December of 2016. She also worked as a strength and conditioning intern for Clemson's Olympic sports programs from May through November of 2015.
Gaudreault was a volunteer assistant track and field coach at Springfield (Mass.) College in 2014 and 2015, where she implemented workouts for sprinters, middle distance and distance runners.
Gaudreault also has a background in strength and conditioning, serving as the women's volleyball strength and conditioning coach at American International College in 2014-15, and has served several strength and conditioning internships.
A native of Leominster, Mass., Gaudreault was a two-time All-American in the 800 meters, and a member of the Prides' cross country team at Springfield (Mass.) College. She received her Bachelor's Degree in applied exercise science in 2014, and holds certifications through the NSCA (CSCS), USTFCCCA (Track and Field Technical Certification), and Precision Nutrition (Level 1 Sport and Exercise Nutritionist).
