MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team wraps up the fall schedule Saturday and Sunday at the Louisiana Tech Invitational at the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex in Ruston.
The tournament begins at 10 a.m. each day. The Warhawks will compete against players from LA Tech, Grambling State and Arkansas State. Saturday's play begins with a round of doubles followed by two rounds of singles. Sunday's play will begin with a pair of doubles rounds followed by a singles round.
Six Warhawks have played in tournaments so far this fall.
Sophomore Hala Badwy is coming off a singles title in the gold bracket of the Warhawk Invitational on Oct. 16-17 at Heard Stadium. Badwy was 3-0 in the tournament and is 3-3 in singles in the fall season.
Senior Drousile Dzeubou lost the gold bracket final to Badwy at the Warhawk Invitational to go 2-1 in her second tournament at ULM. Dzeubou is 3-3 in singles in the fall after posting a 1-2 mark at the Central Arkansas Fall Invitational.
Senior Madalina Grigoriu has been stellar in singles play in two tournaments this fall. She won both matches at the Warhawk Invitational to win the burgundy bracket after winning all three of her matches at UCA. She is 5-0 on the fall entering the LA Tech Invitational.
Freshman Daniela Hernandez also picked up a tournament win at the Warhawk Invitational, taking the black bracket with a 2-0 record. She is 2-3 in singles for the fall season.
Junior Jimena Paula Garbino is 1-5 in singles action in the fall, while sophomore Jelena Lopicic is 2-4 after picking up a win in each tournament.
