ULM Tennis Closes Out UCA Fall Invitational

CONWAY, Ark. – The ULM tennis team won a pair of singles matches on the final day of the Central Arkansas Fall Invitational Saturday at the Conway Tennis Complex.

Madalina Grigoriu completed a perfect 3-0 weekend. She moved the flight four singles on Saturday and defeated Missouri State's Mara Prescot, 6-4, 6-2.

Drousile Dzeubou earned her second win of the weekend in flight two Saturday by rallying past MSU's Alyson Piskulic 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.

Hala Badwy dropped her final match in flight one singles to MSU's Taylor Shaw, 6-7, 6-3, 10-5.

In flight three, Jimena Paula Garbino lost in three sets to MSU's Tiffani Nash, 3-6, 7-5, 10-4.

In flight five, Daniela Hernandez lost in three sets to MSU's Claire Martin, 6-2, 4-6, 11-9.

Jelena Lopicic dropped her match to MSU's Mary Houston, 6-4, 6-1.

In doubles, Badwy and Hernandez lost twice at flight one, coming up short against UT Chattanooga's Jessie Young and Bogdana Zaporozhets, 8-6, and Central Arkansas' Chunxi Xin and Fuka Nonoyama, 8-2.

In flight two, Dzeubou and Lopicic lost to UTC's Emma van Hee and Caroline Gibbens, 8-1, while Grigoriu and Garbino fell to UCA's Mei Ishimura and Yada Vasupongchai, 8-6.

In flight three, Grigoriu and Garbino dropped a match to UTC's Grace Anne Dunavant and Callie Billman, 8-3. Dzeubou and Lopicic lost to UCA's Maja Gledic and Sumomo Hamanaga, 8-3.

The Warhawks are back on the court for the Warhawk Invitational on Oct. 9-10 at Heard Stadium.
