MONROE, La. – Just days after suffering a 4-3 setback to the Ragin' Cajuns, the ULM tennis team looks to regain its previous form against in-state rival Northwestern State when the two teams clash in Natchitoches on Tuesday, March 23 at 2 p.m. It marks the final non-conference match for the Warhawks this season.

The Warhawks (6-4), winners of three of their last five matches, are looking to even their road mark at 3-3. The last time that ULM and Northwestern State squared off was on February 10, 2016, with the Warhawks emerging with a 4-2 victory.

Senior Madalina Grigoriu continues to lead the way for the Warhawks in singles victories with 14. She has claimed six of those wins in dual action, including two each as the No.3, No. 4 and No. 5 seed for ULM.

Hala Badwy also has 10 singles wins for ULM, earning three as the primary No. 1 seed for ULM. Jimena Paula Garbino is tied with Badwy for the second-most singles victories on the team, 10, posting a 5-1 record as the No. 4 seed for the Warhawks. She is also a perfect 3-0 as the No. 5 seed.

Daniela Hernandez needs one singles victory to reach 10 on the season for ULM. She has posted four wins as the No. 6 seed and come through with two as the No. 5 seed.

One of the top units in doubles action for the Warhawks is Garbino and Hernandez, who are 6-2 overall and 5-1 as the No. 3 seed. The other is Grigoriu and Drousile Dzeubou, who are 6-3 on the season and 6-2 as the No. 2 seeds for ULM.

The Lady Demons are 4-4 on the season, winning three of those matches at home. Northwestern State had put together a three-match winning streak, which came against Nicholls, Southeastern Louisiana and McNeese, before suffering a 7-0 setback at SMU on Saturday, March 20th.

The top singles player for the Lady Demons is Emilija Dancetovic, who is 6-3 on the season in dual meets. Four of those wins have come as the No. 5 seed, while two came from the No. 6 slot. Viktorie Wojcikova, who is 5-4 as the No. 2 seeded player in 2021, is second in total wins.

Northwestern State has two doubles pairs with five wins this season. Wojcikova and Judit Castillo are 5-4 on the slate, as the No. 2 seed, while Dancetovic and Dorota Szczygielska have earned five wins as the No. 3 seed for the Lady Demons.
