MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team heads into a clash on Sunday, March 27 at Arkansas State winning four of its last six matches. That stretch includes a 5-2 victory over Texas State on March 15, which marked the first Sun Belt Conference win of the season.
The Warhawks (7-4, 1-3 Sun Belt) look to pick up their fourth road win of the season this weekend, equaling their number of home wins, and second win in conference play.
ULM is led in singles wins by
Madalina Grigoriu, who is 16-2 on the season and 8-2 in dual action. She has three wins as both the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds.
Drousile Dzeubou is second on the unit with 11 wins, coming through with five as the No. 2 seed, while teammates
Jimena Paula Garbino and
Hala Badwy have posted 10 wins each.
Three duos have earned six wins apiece in doubles action for ULM this season including Dzeubou and Grigoriu, Badwy and
Oleksandra Balaba as well as Garbino and Hernandez.
Arkansas State (4-4, 2-2 Sun Belt) has a 3-2 record in March, earning two wins against Texas State and one over Missouri State, all by 4-3 margins. The top individual winner in singles play is Yasmine Humbert, who is 7-3 overall and 2-3 in dual play. Humbert has teamed with Nejla Zukic to earn seven doubles victories, also leading the way for the Red Wolves.
