EL DORADO, Ark. – The ULM tandem of
Guillaume Fanonnel and
Mikkel Schmitt remain among the Top-15 on the individual leaderboard, placing the Warhawks in a tie for fourth, after the second round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship at Mystic Creek Golf Course in El Dorado, Arkansas on Monday, April 26.
Fanonnel slipped one spot into a tie for seventh alongside Little Rock's Anton Albers after carding a second-round 76. Fanonnel, now at 5-over-par 149, fired a pair of birdies on the third and ninth holes along with 10 pars over the course of the day.
Schmitt surrendered his top spot on the individual leaderboard after finishing 13-over-par with a score of 85 on Monday, leaving him at 7-over-par 151 through the second round. While Schmitt didn't record a birdie on his individual scorecard, he managed nine pars, including five straight to close out the round.
Little Rock's Logan Pate ascended to the top of the individual leaderboard with a second-round 74 to sit at 1-over-par 145. Pate's performance helped the Trojans climb two spots into first on the team leaderboard with a 23-over-par score of 599. Little Rock is two shots in front of Georgia Southern, eight shots better than UT Arlington and nine shots better than fourth-place Appalachian State and ULM.
Otto Van Buynder is responsible for the third-best score by an ULM individual, sitting in a tie for 29th with a 12-over-par score of 156. Van Buynder, who wrapped up the second round with a 79, converted a birdie at 11 and 10 pars throughout the afternoon. He managed five pars on both the front and back nine.
Freshman
Melan Dhaubhadel, locked in a tie for 36th, will enter the third round at 13-over-par 157. He shaved one stroke off his first-round score by virtue of a birdie on the 13th green and 12 pars, including seven on the front nine.

Tim Baldwin shuffled the lineup and placed freshman
Cody Winkler on the scorecard in favor of
Andoni Etchenique. Winkler came through with an 8-over-par score of 80, tying Fanonnel for most second-round birdies with three. Winkler also drained six pars, including four in the second round and three in last four holes.
ULM returns to the course for the final round of stroke play on Tuesday, April 27 with the first tee time set for 8:30 a.m. The top four teams in the field at the end Tuesday's third round qualify for the match play semifinals.
