STARKVILLE, Miss. – ULM placed nine athletes in the Top-5, with eight of the results coming Saturday during the second day of the Maroon and White Invite Saturday at Mississippi State's Mike Sanders Track Complex.
ULM's
Jasmine Williams took home the top result of the meet for the Warhawks, placing second in the 400 meter hurdles in a personal-record time of 1:00.85, which ranks third in school history.
Sharon Jerono earned a pair of Top-5 finishes and personal bests on Saturday. Jerono was third in the 1500 in 4:32.89 and fifth in the 800 in 2:16.61. Teammate
Benadine Chelimo also set a personal best in the 1500 in 4:50.24.
Fiebe Tengrootenhuysen had the other Top-5 finish for the women, placing fifth in the 400 meters in 55.78.
On the men's side,
Keith Robinson smashed his previous personal best in the 100 meters by finishing in 10.50 to take third. His previous best was 10.97. Teammate
Jhavonte Perry also set a personal best in the 100 in 10.66.
Reid Guirlando set another personal best and earned a fourth-place finish in the 800 in 1:54.91.
Jakob Fudge also finished fourth in the shot put with a heave of 49-6 1/2 (15.10).
Eric Hawkins also finished in the Top-5 on Saturday, posting a personal record time of 48.00 in the 400.
The Warhawks are off until the Sun Belt Conference Championship May 13-15 in Mobile, Alabama.
