2021 Sun Belt Conference Track & Field Championship | Day 2 Results
MOBILE, Ala. – Both the ULM men's and women's track & field teams are in sixth place following the second day of the Sun Belt Conference Championship at the Jaguar Track Complex.
Eric Hawkins had the top finish on the day for ULM, qualifying for the finals in two events on the track. Hawkins won the third heat in the 800 meter run preliminaries to qualify third for Saturday's finals, finishing in 1:52.06. He also qualified sixth in the 400 in 47.83.
Also on the track,
Brittney Roberson and
Fiebe Tengrootenhuysen each qualified for the finals in the women's 400. Roberson qualified fifth in the prelims in 54.95, while Tengrootenhuysen is seventh at 55.10.
Benadine Chelimo earned two points for the ULM women by placing seventh in the 3000 steeplechase in 11:38.64.
In the jumps,
Rebekka Schubert was fifth in the women's long jump with a distance of 19-8 1/4 (6.00 meters). She led three Warhawks in the event with
Khrystyan Reddic also picking up two points by finishing seventh with a distance of 19-5 1/2 (5.93).
Nasya Ramirez was 10th at 19-0 1/2 (5.80).
In the throwing events,
Jakob Fudge picked up four points for ULM in the men's shot put, placing fifth with a heave of 52-6 1/2 (16.01).
The decathlon and heptathlon wrapped up Friday.
Darryl Givens earned three points for ULM with a sixth place finish in the decathlon with 5,971 points. Schubert picked up another point for the Warhawk women in the heptathlon placing eighth with 4,419 points.
The Warhawk women's team is in sixth place with 23 points after two days. South Alabama leads the meet with 89.5 points. On the men's side, ULM is sixth with 15 points. UT Arlington leads with 50 points.
