ULM Women’s 4x400 Relay Sets School Record at Sun Belt Outdoor Championships

MOBILE, Ala. – The ULM women's 4x400 relay ran a school-record 3:42.39 to highlight Saturday's (May 15) results from the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held at South Alabama's Jaguar Track in Mobile, Alabama. The 4x400 relay of Brittney Roberson, Jasmine Williams, Stella Konstantinidou, Fiebe Tengrootenhuysen claimed the bronze medal and accounted for six points in the team standings.
 
In addition, six individuals along with the men's 4x400 relay scored points for the Warhawks on the final day of competition.
 
Eric Hawkins, who participated in five events during a 36-hour period, finished fifth in the men's 800 meters (1:54.24) and seventh in the 400 (48.32). Hawkins also posted a time of 47.7 seconds while running the anchor leg for the 4x400 relay (Brandon Lewis, Reid Guirlando, Nolan Smith) that placed eighth at 3:20.2.
 
The ULM women's team received a trio of sixth-place performances from Roberson in the 400 meters (54.90), Jasmine Williams in the 400m hurdles (1:01.41) and Sharon Jerono in the 1500m (4:37.74). Fiebe Tengrootenhuysen clocked 55.5 in the 400m to finish eighth.
 
Benadine Chelimo recorded a person-best 18:11.87 in the 5000m.
 
The ULM women's team finished eighth in the final standings with 39 points while the men's team tied for ninth with 24 points. Thirteen different individuals and two different replays accounted for points over the three-day event.
