CHOUDRANT, La. – The ULM men's golf team shaved 12 strokes off its first-round score and moved up five spots on the leaderboard to eighth place after the second round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate at Squire Creek Country Club Monday.
 
The Warhawks shot a 6-under-par 282 to reach even-par 576 (294-282) for the tournament. UTSA leads the tournament at 14-under-par 562 (290-272) after shooting 16-under-par 272 as a team in the second round.
 
Three Warhawks are tied for the team lead and 18th overall at 1-under-par 143. Sophomore 
Cody Winkler and junior 
Otto Van Buynder made the biggest moves on Monday, with each shooting 3-under-par 69. Winkler (74-69) drained five birdies, coming on the par-5 second hole, par-4 sixth, par-5 ninth par-5 11th and par-4 14th, to go with 11 pars. Van Buynder (74-69) birdied the par-4 fourth, par-4 seventh and par-5 17th while also knocking down an eagle on the par-5 11th. He totaled 12 pars on the day.
 
Junior 
Jacob Agerschou slipped back to a 1-over-par 73 on Monday to drop back to 1-under-par 143 (70-73). Agerschou did not birdie until the back nine, where he picked up four of them on the par-4 10th, 11th, 14th and 17th. He had nine pars on the round.
 
Junior 
Michael Gilbert contributed the fourth score in the second round with a 1-under-par 71 to sit at 5-over-par 149 (78-71). He birdied the second, par-3 fifth, ninth and par-4 13th to pair with 11 pars.
 
Sophomore 
Mikkel Schmitt improved by three shots over the first round with a 1-over-par 73 to total 5-over-par 149 (76-73) through two rounds. Schmitt birdied the par-3 third, fifth, ninth, 13th and 14th while collecting nine pars.
 
Freshman 
Rory Milne, competing in his first collegiate tournament as an individual, duplicated his first-round 1-over-par 73 on Tuesday and is at 2-over-par 146 (73-73) through two rounds. Milne birdied the second, ninth, 11th and par-4 18th and tallied nine pars.
 
The Warhawks begin the final round on the first hole at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday.
