MONROE, La. – For the first time in program history, the ULM women's cross country team is ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Regional Rankings.
The Warhawks are ranked No. 14 in the South Central region after winning its first two meets of the season: the Warhawk Opener and the Mook 4 Invitational.
ULM won the Mook 4 Invitational by 19 points over Nicholls. The Warhawks placed all five scoring runners inside the Top 11, with senior
Sharon Jerono leading the way in third in the 4K race in 14:39.2. Senior
Benadine Chelimo (fourth), sophomore
Eliana Battle (eighth), freshman
Emily Allen (ninth) and freshman
Jalynn Lozano (11th) all factored into the team scoring.
The Warhawks are back on the course on Oct. 1 at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
