MONROE, La. – The ULM men's golf team returns to the course for its second tournament of the fall, playing in the Graeme McDowell Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Silver Lakes Backbreaker and Heartbreaker Courses in Gadsden, Alabama.
The two nine-hole courses in the Backbreaker and Heartbreaker create a par-72 round covering 7,467 yards. The Backbreaker features nine wide fairways and demanding greens, while the Heartbreaker provides a showcase in elevation changes.
The Warhawk lineup will feature sophomore
Cody Winkler, junior
Otto Van Buynder, junior
Jacob Agerschou, sophomore
Mikkel Schmitt and freshman
Javier Balbastre.
Winkler was 11th at the season-opening Jim Rivers Intercollegiate at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, where he shot a 3-under-par 213 (74-69-70). Van Buynder was 17th at 2-under-par 214 (74-69-71) and Agerschou was 25th at even par 216 (70-73-73). Schmitt shot an 8-over-par 224 (76-73-75). Balbastre is making his collegiate debut.
