GADSDEN, Ala. – The ULM men's golf team is in fifth place following the first two rounds of the Graeme McDowell Invitational Monday at RTJ Golf Trail at Silver Lakes.
The Warhawks shot 1-over-par 577 (293-284) in the first two rounds. Tournament host UAB leads the field at 18-under-par 558 (281-277).
Sophomore
Cody Winkler leads ULM in 17th at even-par 144 (75-69). He carded three birdies and nine pars in the opening round before sinking five birdies and 11 pars in the second round. He is seven shots behind UAB's Nick Robillard and Charleston Southern's Ethan Willis who are tied for the lead at 7-under-par 137.
Sophomore
Mikkel Schmitt is 24th at 1-over-par 145 (74-71). Schmitt opened his day with three birdies and 11 pars before connecting on four birdies and 12 pars in the second round.
Junior
Jacob Agerschou is 29th at 2-over-par 146 (78-68). After struggling in the first round with one birdie and 12 pars, he had five birdies and 12 pars in the second round to shoot 4-under-par 68, moving up 42 spots on the leaderboard.
Junior
Otto Van Buynder is 35th at 3-over-par 147 (70-77). After shooting 2-under-par 70 in the first round with four birdies and 12 pars, he had three birdies and 10 pars in the second round.
Freshman
Javier Balbastre, competing in his first collegiate tournament, is 56th at 6-over-par 150 (74-76). He had four birdies and 10 pars in the first round before collecting two birdies and 10 pars in the second round.
The tournament concludes with the third round on Tuesday.
