MONROE, La. – The ULM cross country teams return to the course Friday night at the Chile Pepper Festival at Agri Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The women's 5K race begins at 5 p.m. with the men's 8K race to follow at 5:30.
The Warhawk women's team is ranked No. 15 in the South Central Region in this week's USTFCCCA regional rankings. Senior
Sharon Jerono has paced the Warhawks in the first two meets of the season, running a 14:39 4K at the Mook 4 Invitational at Louisiana Tech on Sept. 18. Senior
Benadine Chelimo has been right behind Jerono, running a 14:55 at LA Tech. Second-year freshman
Eliana Battle has consistently been the third Warhawk, running a season-best 15:23 at LA Tech. Freshman
Emily Allen was in the Top-10 at LA Tech in 15:39.
On the men's side, freshman
Rojs Puks made his collegiate debut at the Mook 4 Invite, running the four-mile race in 21:20 to place sixth. Freshman Teddy Gowan was 11th in both meets to open the season, running a 21:40 at LA Tech. Sophomore
Brayden Ortiz was 16th at LA Tech in 21:48.
