MONROE, La. – The ULM cross country teams return to action Saturday at the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational at Watts Cross Country Course in Bryan-College Station, Texas. It marks the final regular season meet for ULM prior to the Sun Belt Conference Championship on Oct. 28 in Foley, Alabama.
The men's 8K race is first at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 6K race at 9:45 a.m.
The Warhawks failed to record a men's team score in their last outing on Sept. 30 at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Juwan Blignaut finished the 8K race in 26:37.4 to lead the Warhawks, while
Jay Parker was the only other ULM runner to finish, completing the course in 29:18.3.
On the women's side, Saturday's race is the first 6K race of the season.
Paula Vaquera Cervantes led the Warhawks in the 5K at the Chile Pepper Festival, finishing 29th with a personal-best time of 17:27.7.
Kimone Campbell was 177th in 19:14.9.
Eliana Battle followed closely behind in 184th in 19:21.8.
Jalynn Lozano was fourth for the Warhawks, placing 206th in 19:33.7.
Anna Naff followed immediately behind Lozano with a personal-best showing of 19:35.1 to round out the team scoring.
