COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The ULM women's cross country team finished 31st and the men placed 35th at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M Saturday.
"I'm happy with the results today," ULM cross country coach
David Silversmith said. "We had four personal bests on the men's side, and even though we had some sickness this past week with the women; they showed up and ran well for their first 6K of the season."
Paula Vaquera Cervantes paced the women in the 6K race in 22:23.4 to finish 94th.
Eliana Battle was 174th in 23:28.0.
Anna Naff placed 214th in 24:02.2.
Ansley Long was 248th in 24:39.3.
Jalynn Lozano concluded the team scoring, finishing 260th in 24:51.2.
Reid Guirlando led the men in the 8K race in 25:38.5, good for 132nd place.
Rojs Puks was 190th in 26:18.1.
Brayden Ortiz finished 208th in 26:28.9.
Juwan Blignaut was 247th in 26:58.4.
Jay Parker wrapped up the team scoring in 323rd in 28:42.4.
Also competing for ULM,
Teddy Gowen was 347th in 30:20.3 and Jaylen Wade was 352nd in 31:10.5.
The Warhawks return to the course at the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Foley, Alabama, on Oct. 28.
