MONROE, La. – The ULM women's golf team returns to the course for the first time in the spring as they play in the Tchefuncta Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington, Louisiana.
The Tchefuncta Country Club golf course weaves through the Tchefuncta Club Estates and has six newly designed holes. The design of the course was inspired by the natural beauty of the area and created to challenge golfers at every skill level of play. For the tournament, the course will play at par 71 over 6,044 yards.
"It's been four-and-a-half months since our last event, so we're definitely eager to get back on the road and compete," ULM head women's golf coach
Rachel Pollock said. "The team has been working hard through some difficult weather conditions this spring and I'm excited to put those hours of practice into play."
Sophomore
Charlotte Fourdraine leads the team heading into the first tournament of the spring. She played in all five tournaments in the fall. She shot a 7-over-par 223 at the USA Intercollegiate on Sept. 4-6, where she also collected a fall-best eight birdies. During the fall, she led the team in fairways hit (.918), birdie conversion under 15 feet (.385) and fairways hit/greens hit (95/5).
Junior
Chantal Dueringer played in all five tournaments in the fall, leading the way at 1-under-par 215 at the USA Intercollegiate. She finished in the Top 5 at the Hoover Invitational at 3-over-par 219 and was sixth at the Bearkat Invitational at 4-over-par 217. She also sunk a fall-best nine pars at the USA Intercollegiate. She led the team in average score (74.20), birdies (36), subpar strokes (2.53), greens-in-regulation (.759) and par-3 greens in regulation (.800) in the fall.
Sophomore
Line Petersen played in three tournaments in the fall, posting her best tournament at the Little Rock Golf Classic from Oct. 24-26 at 1-over-par 217, good for sixth place, the best finish of her career. She drained nine birdies in the tournament. She led the Warhawks in last round scoring (72.33), par-5 scoring (4.73), putts per round (30.00), putts on greens in regulation (1.828), birdie conversion (.203), greens hit under 15 feet (.333) and was second in birides (31).
Sophomore
Alessia Mengoni played in four tournaments in the fall. She turned in her best tournament at the Little Rock Golf Classic with a 2-over-par 218 to finish eighth. She also shot 3-over-par 219 at the Lady Red Wolves Classic from Oct. 11-12, where she recorded her first career Top 10 placing. She paced ULM in par-4 scoring (4.15), pars per round (12.33), bogeys per round (3.00) and putting par (+.78)
Senior
Jahaanvie Walia played in two tournaments before sitting out the remainder of the fall with an injury. She shot 7-over-par 223 at the USA Intercollegiate. She led ULM in first-round scoring (74.00), par-3 scoring (3.05) and double bogeys per round (.33)
"We're excited to have Jahaanvie back in the lineup after being injured this fall," Pollock said.
