MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team evened its dual record at 2-2 with a 5-2 win over Nicholls Saturday afternoon at Heard Stadium.
"Good to get our second home win," ULM head coach
Abdelrahman Zaki said. "We played a good Nicholls team that fought and competed well at every spot. We played our best doubles at No. 1 and 3 and grew up from our last two duals."
The Warhawks claimed the first point of the day by taking the doubles point. Junior

ULM took a 2-0 lead at No. 2 singles where Badwy defeated Simona Maksimovic, 6-3, 6-0. Nicholls got a point back at No. 5 singles when Bouygues beat Pereira, 6-2, 6-2.
The Warhawks secured the dual victory with three consecutive wins. Anghel beat Safarova, 7-6 (7), 6-2, at No. 1 singles. Grigoriu followed with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 win over Forshag at No. 6 singles to secure the match with the fourth point for ULM. Senior
Brianna Gomez topped Mount at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-3, for the fifth point.
"Great job for Brianna who earned her third consecutive win without dropping a set, and our freshman Alex who got her first win at No. 1."
Nicholls closed the match with Lopez' win over Garbino, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
The Warhawks return to action at 2 p.m. Saturday vs. Stephen F. Austin at Heard Stadium.
