MONROE, La. – After splitting its matches on the opening weekend of Sun Belt Conference play, the ULM tennis team returns to action in Lafayette against the Ragin' Cajuns at 2 p.m. Friday before entertaining Arkansas State at 10 a.m. Sunday at Heard Stadium.
ULM opened SBC play last Saturday with a 4-0 win over Troy before falling 4-1 at South Alabama on Sunday. Junior
Hala Badwy won both of her matches at No. 1 singles, and teamed with senior
Jimena Paula Garbino to go 1-1 at No. 3 doubles. Freshman

Oleksandra Balaba also both won a doubles and singles matches, with the duo winning at No. 1 doubles against Troy, while Anghel won at No. 2 singles against the Trojans and Balaba at No. 4 singles. Senior
Brianna Gomez had ULM's other point on the week at No. 3 singles against Troy.
The Ragin' Cajuns are 5-4 overall and 1-1 in SBC play after losing to South Alabama, 4-1, and picking up a win over Troy, 4-2. The Cajuns swept a pair of matches against ULM last season, winning 4-3 in both matches. The win on March 3, 2021, in Lafayette snapped ULM's 10-dual winning streak against the Cajuns.
Arkansas State is 4-7 overall and 0-1 in the SBC after falling at home to Texas State, 5-2, on March 4. The Red Wolves last played on March 9, falling to Southeast Missouri, 4-3. A-State had last week's SBC match against UT Arlington postponed due to weather. ULM swept last year's meetings with A-State, winning 7-0 in Jonesboro and 4-0 in Monroe.
