HUMBLE, Texas – The ULM men's golf team finished sixth at the All-American Intercollegiate at the Golf Club of Houston.
The Warhawks shot a 19-over-par 595 (301-294) in the first two rounds of the event on Monday. Tuesday's third and final round was canceled after the course was deemed unplayable due to rain.
Florida State won the event at 7-under-par 569 (296-273). FSU's Frederik Kjettrup and Sam Houston's Bret Gray tied for individual medalist honors at 3-under-par 141.
Sophomore Cody Winkler paced ULM on Monday. He shot a 2-over-par 146 (73-73) to finish in a tie for 14th. He tallied four consecutive birdies from the 10th through 13th holes and sunk nine pars in the first round. He had a pair of birdies in the second round on the first and fourth holes and had 13 pars.
Sophomore Melan Dhaubhadel tied for 23rd at 4-over-par 148 (75-73). In the first round, he birdied his first hole, the 15th and added another on the 12th while draining 13 pars. In the second round, he birdied the 16th and 17th to start strong and added another on the 12th while collecting 13 pars.
Junior Otto Van Buynder tied for 40th at 6-over-par 150 (78-72). He had 13 pars in his first round before picking up back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth holes in the second round while adding 14 pars in shooting even par.
Junior Jacob Agerschou tied for 43rd at 7-over-par 151 (75-76). He knocked in a birdie on the 17th hole with 14 pars in the first round. He tallied three birdies in the second round on the 15th, 17th and first holes while picking up nine pars.
Freshman Theis Poulsen wrapped up ULM's card with a 167. He had 13 pars in the first round and 11 in the second round.
The Warhawks are off until the Mossy Oak Intercollegiate at West Point, Mississippi, hosted by Mississippi State, on April 11-12.
