Warhawk Tennis Heads to Georgia for Pair of SBC Duals

MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team continues Sun Belt Conference action Saturday and Sunday with duals at Georgia Southern and Georgia State, respectively. Both duals are scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
 
ULM is 6-6 overall and 3-1 in SBC dual action.
 
Junior Hala Badwy has led the way in singles play, going 9-3 overall with a 3-0 mark in SBC play. She has won five consecutive matches and is 7-2 at No. 1 singles.
 
Junior Oleksandra Balaba is 2-0 in singles play this season, picking up her wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
 
Freshman Alessandra Anghel is 5-7 overall but 2-1 in SBC play. She is 4-5 at No. 2 singles and picked up a win over Arkansas State's Emily Surcey last Sunday.
 
Senior Madalina Grigoriu, senior Jimena Paula Garbino and sophomore Giovanna Pereira have rotated in the No. 4, 5 and 6 slots for ULM. Pereira picked up two wins last week, while Garbino earned a win on Sunday vs. Arkansas State.
 
In doubles action, ULM split the doubles points last week, winning against the Ragin' Cajuns and falling to A-State. Grigoriu and Pereira have been ULM's top team during the dual season, posting a 3-2 mark together and a 2-1 record in SBC play. Badwy and Garbino are 2-2 as a pair with a 2-1 record in SBC play.
