HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The ULM women's golf team shot 12-over-par 296 in the final round of the Bearkat Invitational to finish in second place at 39-over-par 891 (298-297-296) Tuesday at the Bearkat Course.
The Warhawks finished second to host Sam Houston, which shot a 1-under-par 851 (279-283-289) as a team.
ULM was led by
Anna Andrysova, who picked up her second Top-10 finish in her second collegiate tournament, taking fifth place. She shot 2-over-par 73 on Tuesday to finish at 5-over-par 218 (75-70-73). Sam Houston had the top three finishers, including individual medalist Zulaikah Nasser at 6-under-par 207 (67-69-71).
Andrysova started on the first hole in Tuesday's final round, carding birdies on the par-4 fifth and par-4 13th holes while picking up 12 pars. She shot a bogey-free front nine for her best collegiate finish to date.
Johanna Sjursen just missed her first career Top-10 finish, but still picked up the best placing of her career. She finished tied for 12th at 11-over-par 224 (79-75-70) after shooting 1-under-par 70 on Tuesday. After starting her round on the fifth hole, she birdied three consecutive holes, putting up red numbers on the par-5 ninth, par-4 10th and par-3 11th holes while adding 13 pars.
Line Petersen tied for 17th at 13-over-par 226 (75-77-74), firing a 3-over-par 74 on Tuesday. She birdied the 10th and drained 13 pars on the round.
Chantal Dueringer and
Alessia Mengoni were part of a tie for 23rd, shooting identical tournament scores of 16-over-par 229 (74-76-79). Dueringer birdied the ninth hole Tuesday, while Mengoni picked up birdies on the par-3 fourth, par-3 eighth and par-3 17th holes.
Sarah Hagglund played as an individual and tied for 36th at 20-over-par 233 (78-78-77). She shot 6-over-par 77 on Tuesday. She fired three birdies, coming on the 10th, par-5 14th and par-5 18th holes.
The Warhawks are off until the Lady Red Wolves Classic on Oct. 10-11 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
