MONROE, La. - The ULM cross country team competes in the NCAA South Central Regional on Friday.

The regional will feature top competition in Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, and LSU. There will also be competition from the Sun Belt including Arkansas State, the Ragin' Cajuns and Texas State.

The Sun Belt Conference Championship had mixed results for ULM, with the men taking third place, which is the highest overall placement in the SBC Championship in program history. The women's team finished in 10th.

Freshman Carlo-Martinez Jaramillo placed eighth last meet and was named SBC Freshman of the Year and earned Second Team All-Conference honors.
Chase Gunn and
Juwan Blignaut will also be in the race.

For the women, top performers in
Kimone Campbell and
Eliana Battle will try to make up for the SBC championship with an impressive performance. Overall, there will be six runners from both teams.

The women's 6K will start at 10:30 a.m. while the men's 10K will begin an hour later at 11:30 a.m.
