NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The ULM tennis team picked up its second win of the spring with a 4-3 win over Stephen F. Austin Thursday at the Schleif Tennis Complex.
SFA won the doubles point to open the dual. Jemma Cave and Alkmini Giannakogiorgou defeated ULM's
Alessandra Anghel and
Angela Del Campo Suarez, 7-6, on court one, while Zala Ule and Felicia Back knocked off
Giovanna Pereira and
Tamara Bachmann, 6-2, on court two to secure the point. ULM's
Mackenzie King and
Alice Klinteby won on court three against SFA's Elena Bleicher and Ksenia Mamontova, 6-3.
In singles play, ULM took four of six points to win the dual. On court one, Anghel defeated Mamontova, 6-1, 7-5. On court three, Del Campo Suarez won a 6-2, 6-1 decision against Cave. On court four, Pereira topped Back, 7-5, 0-6, 6-3. On court six,
Mariam Hatem won 6-1, 6-2 against Bleicher. SFA earned points on court two and court five, as Giannakogiorgou defeated Klinteby on court two, 6-3, 6-3, and Carolina Chiatti won over Bachmann on court five, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1.
ULM returns to Heard Stadium to take on Northwestern State at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
