MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team dropped Tuesday's home dual to Northwestern State, 4-3, at Heard Stadium.
ULM won the doubles point for the 1-0 lead.
Alessandra Anghel and
Angela Del Campo Suarez won on court one over Tjasa Klevisar and Ayu Ishibashi, 6-3.
Giovanna Pereira and
Mariam Hatem secured the point on court two with a 6-3 win over Paige Wise and Sofi Garcia, 6-3. NSU won on court three as Dorota Szczygielska and Renske Ubachs knocked off
Mackenzie King and
Alice Klinteby, 5-3.
In singles action, Anghel won on court one against Ishibashi, 6-1, 7-5, and Del Campo Suarez won on court three against Wise, 6-4, 6-5. NSU took the victories on courts two, four, five and six for the win. Garcia won on court four against Pereira, 6-1, 6-3, while Szczygielska topped Bachmann on court five, 6-1, 6-2, and Ubachs won on court six over Hatem, 6-0, 6-2. The decisive battle was on court two, where Klevisar won a three-set match, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 against Klinteby.
ULM hits the road for a pair of matches, taking on McNeese at 11 a.m. Friday and Houston at 11 a.m. Saturday.
