ULM Golf Heads to All-American Intercollegiate

MONROE, La. – The ULM men's golf team opens play at the All-American Intercollegiate, hosted by Houston, at 8 a.m. Monday at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
 
The Golf Club of Houston is a par-72 layout covering 7,067 yards.
 
Melan Dhaubhadel, Javier Balbastre, Otto Van Buynder, Jacob Agerschou and Theis Poulsen are slated to compete for ULM, with Holden Hamilton competing as an individual.
 
Dhaubhadel is second on the team with a 72.52 scoring average across 21 rounds. The junior is coming off his second Top-10 finish of the year, tying for seventh at 2-over-par 218 (71-72-75) at the Desert Mountain Collegiate in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 4-5. He also earned a Top-10 finish by placing sixth at the White Sands Invitational at 3-under-par 207 (67-69-71) in October. He has four Top-25 placings on the season. He leads the team in first-round average (70.71), par-4 scoring (4.04), birdies (81) and subpar strokes per round (3.86).
 
Balbastre has a 74.78 scoring average and is playing in his third-straight event and fourth of the season. He had his best placing at the Desert Mountain Collegiate, finishing tied for 28th at 7-over-par 223 (75-74-74). He has factored into the team score in each of his last five rounds and seven of his nine rounds overall on the season. His lowest tournament score was a 4-over-par 220 (76-72-72) at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic.
 
Van Buynder leads the team with a 71.57 scoring average over 21 rounds. The senior tied for 41st at the Desert Mountain Collegiate at 10-over-par 226 (73-72-81). He has four Top-10 finishes in seven tournaments this season, placing third at both the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate and Little Rock Invitational, fifth at the Border Olympics and 10th at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic. He leads the team in last round average (71.86), par-5 scoring (4.67), eagles (5), pars per round (11.71), bogeys per round (2.86) and double bogeys per round (.14).
 
Agerschou is fourth on the team in scoring average at 72.87 over 15 rounds. The senior last played at the Border Olympics on Feb. 13-14, finishing with a 238 (76-78-84). His score has factored into the team score in 12 of his 15 rounds. He has three Top-25 finishes, including an eighth-place finish at the Little Rock Invitational.
 
Poulsen is fifth on the team with a 73.78 scoring average over 18 rounds. He has played in six events, including all four in the spring schedule. He shot a 229 (76-76-77) at the Desert Mountain Collegiate and factored into the team score in all three rounds. He has factored into the team score in 15 of his 18 rounds. He has two Top-20 finishes, including a season-best seventh-place finish at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Sept. 11-13.
 
Holden Hamilton will make his ULM debut, playing as an individual. The Texas City, Texas, native and Arkansas Tech transfer played in 21 rounds for the Wonder Boys last year, finishing in the Top 10 twice and Top 5 once with a 75.90 stroke average. He shot a low-round of 2-under-par 70 twice, doing so in the second round of the Great American Conference Men's Golf Championship on April 11, 2022, and again in the second round of the NCAA Division II National Championship on May 17, 2022.
