GULF SHORES, Ala. – The ULM women's golf team shot a combined score of 5-over-par 293 on Monday, March 20 to extend its lead to 15 shots on the leaderboard at 17-over 593 after 36 holes at the Bama Beach Bash. ULM's second-round score of 293 was eight strokes better than Colorado State, which posted the second-lowest total at 13-over 301.
 
The Warhawks, who are in pursuit of their third tournament title of the 2022-23 season, lead second-place Central Arkansas (306-302 – 608, +32) by 15 shots, heading into Tuesday's final round. Little Rock (303-308) and Oral Roberts (303-308) are tied for third at 35-over 611, 18 strokes off the pace.
 
Through 36 holes, the Warhawks lead the 15-team field in par-4 scoring (4.20/+16) and birdies (23).
 
ULM finished atop the team leaderboards at The Judson (6-over 870) last November and at the GCU Invitational (school-record 19-under 845) three weeks ago.
 
"The team competed really hard today again in difficult conditions." ULM head coach Rachel Pollock said. "They're proving how gritty they are and how they're able to show up no matter what is thrown at them."
 
ULM's Chantal Dueringer, who recorded her second consecutive 2-under-par 70, remains atop the individual standings at 4-under 140 through 36 holes – six shots ahead of a trio of golfers tied for second place at 2-over-par 146, in North Alabama's Jahnavi Prakhya, Colorado State's Andrea Bergsdottir and Oral Roberts' Kate Strickland.
 
Dueringer, who started her second round on the back nine, reeled off four consecutive pars, followed by a birdie at the 14th hole and tallied four more pars before making the turn. She delivered birdies at the first and third holes and managed six more pars. Her 36-hole totals featured six birdies and a team-best 25 pars.
 
"Chantal played great golf again today and so did my underclassmen, Sara and Anna," Pollock said. "We're looking forward to the opportunity to play some good golf again tomorrow."
 
Sara Hagglund, who carded a 3-over 74 in the opening round, fired a 1-over 73 Monday to climb five spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for sixth place at 4-over 148. Hagglund started the back nine with six pars, including five in a row from holes 11-15, and delivered a birdie at the 18th hole. She made five more pars on the front nine and recorded back-to-back birdies at the second and third holes. Hagglund's 36-hole totals included five birdies and 24 pars.
 
Two more Warhawks are positioned inside the Top 20, heading into Tuesday's final round, including Johanna Sjursen, who is locked in a five-way tie for 13th place at 8-over 152, and Anna Andrysova, who is one shot back at 9-over 153 and tied with three other golfers.
 
Sjursen, who carded a 3-over 75 in the opening round, produced a 5-over 77 in the second round. She totaled five pars along with a birdie at No. 16 on the back nine, and followed with seven pars on the front nine, including five straight to close out the round. Her 36-hole totals included three birdies and 23 pars.
 
After posting an 8-over 80 in the first round, Andrysova became the biggest mover on the individual leaderboard after firing a 1-over 73 Tuesday to vault 24 positions into a four-way tie for 18th at 9-over 153. She opened the back nine with three consecutive birdies, added a fourth at the 15 hole, and tallied three pars. Andrysova managed seven more pars on the front nine, finishing the round with six in a row. Her scorecard included seven birdies and 16 pars through 36 holes.
 
Alessia Mengoni carded a 5-over 77 in the second round and ascended 12 places in the individual standings into a seven-way tie for 50th at 16-over 160. After a slow start on the back nine (6-over 42), Mengoni produced a 1-under 35 on the front nine, thanks to six pars and a pair of birdies at the fifth and ninth holes. Her 36-hole totals included two birdies and 19 pars.
 
For the third round, ULM will tee off with the final group (Central Arkansas and North Alabama), between 9:30-10:06 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21.
