MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team closes out its home schedule with a pair of Sun Belt Conference duals against Georgia State and Troy. First serve against Georgia State is set for 2 p.m. Friday and first serve against Troy is slated for 10 a.m. Sunday at Heard Stadium.
Sunday is Senior Day for the Warhawks, with
Oleksandra Balaba being recognized prior to the match.
The Warhawks are 3-16 overall and 1-7 in the SBC after dropping matches to Coastal Carolina, 5-2, and Georgia Southern, 4-0, last week in Jonesboro, Arkansas, after wet weather forced the matches to move indoors at the neutral site.
Giovanna Pereira leads the team with 10 singles wins. She has played primarily in the No. 3, 4 and 5 spots. She also leads the team with 11 doubles wins after teaming with
Alice Klinteby for a win on court three against Coastal Carolina.
Klinteby is second on the team with nine singles wins, playing primarily in the No. 2 or 3 slots, and has totaled eight doubles wins, good for second on the team.
Alessandra Anghel has eight singles and six doubles wins while playing in the top position in singles and doubles.
Georgia State is 1-15 overall and 1-6 in the SBC, with its only win coming over Southern Miss, 4-3, on March 11.
Troy is 12-5 overall and 5-3 in the SBC, and has won four-straight duals, defeating Marshall (4-2), Georgia State (5-2), Texas State (5-2) and the Ragin' Cajuns (4-2).
