JONESBORO, Ark. – Coastal Carolina picked up a 5-2 win over ULM Friday at the Arkansas State Tennis Complex. Persistent wet weather in Monroe forced the home match for ULM to be moved to the neutral site at A-State.
ULM opened by claiming the doubles point. On court three,
Alice Klinteby and
Giovanna Pereira defeated Jesse Hollins and Victoire De Samucewicz, 6-3. The Warhawks claimed the point on court one as
Alessandra Anghel and
Angela Del Campo Suarez defeated Anna Babayan and Megan Hopton, 6-4.
In singles play, Hollins pushed CCU's lead to 2-0 with a win on court four over Del Campo Suarez, 6-2, 6-2. Kata Foldeak followed with a win on court five, knocking off Pereira, 6-4, 6-1. CCU sealed the match on court two as Babayan defeated Balaba, 7-5, 6-2. CCU continued the run on court six as Lilie Steryous knocked off
Tamara Bachmann, 6-1, 6-3. Tatum Burger picked up a 6-7, 7-5, 10-7 win over Klinteby on court three. ULM salvaged a point on court one as
Alessandra Anghel won over De Samucewicz, 6-3, 0-6, 6-4.
ULM concludes the weekend at 2 p.m. Saturday against Georgia Southern in Jonesboro.
